Fulham Victory Over Liverpool Well Deserved – Roy Hodgson

Fulham boss Roy Hodgson reflected on his side's performance as they defeated Liverpool 3-1 at Craven Cottage this afternoon.

"Sometimes the thrill of the performance has been spoiled by a last minute goal against us," Hodgson told Sky Sports.

"Against West Ham and Roma [Fulham conceded late], two notable matches, but this one today we got our noses in front and were able to keep our noses in front.

"We've got a habit at the moment of playing one really good half. We did it against Roma, we did it against Man City, and now we've done it again.

"This time, fortunately, the good half led to a victory not a draw."

Hodgson revealed his substitutions at half-time weren't tactical and were forced upon him by injuries.

"The changes were forced upon us, both Damien Duff and Diomansy Kamara were injured so they had to come off at half-time," explained Hodgson.

"I'm really pleased about the two lads, Erik Nevland and Zoltan [Gera] who went on, they did a fantastic job.

"I thought second half we actually just played better, I thought we closed them down better, I thought we got around the ball better, I thought we passed the ball better.

"We created quite a few chances for the three goals we eventually scored.

"I don't think people will begrudge us the victory because I thought we were worth it over the ninety minutes."
