EXCLUSIVE: Chelsea Will Beat Manchester United To Premier League Title - Carlo Cudicini
Cudicini believes this will be Chelsea's year in the Premier League. In addition, he has pondered his own future at Tottenham Hotspur during an exclusive interview with Goal.com...
Chelsea will break Manchester United's grip on the Premier League trophy, former Blues goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini has told Goal.com Italia.
The Tottenham Hotspur shot-stopper is loving life at White Hart Lane and has exclusively revealed that he wants to extend his contract there.
Despite their loss to Stoke City at the weekend, Spurs are enjoying a strong start to the season.
However, it has been widely predicted that the title race will be a shoot-out between Carlo Ancelotti's Chelsea and Manchester United. Cudicini, who spent several years at Stamford Bridge, believes his old team can do the business this season.
"My former Chelsea team-mates have all the cards in place to interrupt Manchester United's dominance this year," Cudicini told Goal.com Italia.
The shot-stopper then compared current boss Ancelotti with two of his former Chelsea coaches, Claudio Ranieri and Jose Mourinho.
"Ancelotti is doing a great job there, but I don't know him," confessed Cudicini.
"I owe much to Ranieri as he made me first choice and I played regularly. Mourinho's successes are down to his splendid work. He is one of the best coaches around."
Cudicini has featured seven times this season for Spurs, and he wants to continue playing in North London, though Serie A is at the back of his mind.
"My contract is about to expire, but I would be happy to remain at Tottenham. However, I would consider Italian clubs if that wasn't possible," concluded the former Milan man.
