SpeakOut: The Women's Team Deserve Better Treatment- Fans' Reaction

This week's edition of SpeakOut focused on the story state of women's football in India and the response from the readers has been overwhelming. Goal.com's Amoy Ghoshal now charts some of the best comments posted in response to the article.....

Indian Football
Aneek from New Delhi highlights just how the AIFF have neglected the women’s team, “More than the case of gender biasness. it is a case of mis-management which is not something new in AIFF circuit. How lame reason is this that working committee never met because chairman has been in hospital for last 1 year. There should be a proper agenda in place for women footballer's also. There is no doubt that resources are less with AIFF, but there duty is properly utilise the given resources. AIFF Gen Sec. should realize he is answerable to these players who have no where left to go.”

Sayan from Kolkata adds, “itz very disappointing to find the rank of women's team go down to 98.the national women's team has been deprived by AIFF for a long time, the infrastructure of football in India really needs a change.... thanks to goal.com for giving us the information and highlighting the problems.......”

Mohan from Kerala further adds, “Good one! There was no tournament going on in womens football in the whole world so India couldn't participate .. how funny statement”

Sunny from Kolkata tells how the success of both the men’s and women’s team is equally important, “all i can say dat dis is an issue 2 b discussed thouroughly..is quite sensitive 2......firstly women in india r not even exposed 2 da world of football as such...we have 2 take steps so dat sey at least come 2 know of it 4rm da ryt age....2 b called a country of football one cant have only one side of da coin....both r needed....we need 2 enhance women football by all means...”

Ujaan from Kolkata adds, “The fact is that The women's team is not getting the exposure they require. But no one can be figured out to put the blame on.It is the social outlook itself. Football or Cricket Generally viewed as the men's Game itself. We hardly switch on the Tv during a women's soccer or a cricket match. But of course proper attention can change things ..We have seen it works ..Chak de INDIA! :P”

Priyanka from Kolkata gives a female’s perspective on the same, “the women's team ought to be given more exposure, they should be made to play more, else how will they rise in the rankings? the team has been subjected to negligence, which speaks volumes on how the AIFF views matters. gender bias should be completely done away with. our national women's team has a lot of talent which has to be nurtured right & the time has come. they need to play more to prepare for the big matches.”
