Barcelona Striker Pedro Delighted After Completing Historic Scoring Record

Barcelona striker Pedro was delighted after becoming the first player to score in six tournaments in one season but declared that the team prize of the FIFA Club World Cup crown is of far greater significance for him.

The 22-year-old was on the score sheet for the Blaugrana in the 3-1 win over Atlante on Wednesday night in Abu Dhabi, adding to the goals he has already scored in the Primera Liga, UEFA Champions League, Copa del Rey, UEFA Super Cup and Spanish Super Cup, completing a remarkable sequence of goals.

"There was some point in the game where I thought the opportunity would pass me by, but I ended up scoring," he told AS.

"I know I made history against Atlante, but what counts here is the collective success and this is always the case, because without the efforts of all my colleagues, I would achieve very little. I'm on a cloud and the feeling is wonderful."

Barcelona take on Estudiantes in the final in the United Arab Emirates on Saturday, looking to add the club world crwon to their impressive haul of trophies in 2009.
