This weekend, they have the opportunity to reclaim their spot at the helm of the competition, as they face the newly promoted Chievo at the San Siro. Milan’s cross-town rivals Inter, face a tricky trip away to Palermo, and so three points for Carlo Ancelotti’s men could seem them go clear again.
Ancelotti has recently made it clear that he will employ an all-Brazilian forward trident of Kaka, Pato and Ronaldinho, as he looks to cause havoc in the Chievo defence.
Pippo Inzaghi and Marco Borriello have both been ruled out through injury, and so the Milanese club are a touch light on attacking options this weekend, as Andriy Shevchenko is the only replacement.
In addition to this, Alessandro Nesta and Paolo Maldini are both set to miss the match, whilst Philippe Senderos is also in serious doubt.
As a result of the countless number of injuries Ancelotti’s side have received this season, the club are reportedly interested in signing a defender in the upcoming transfer period. The man they have been linked with a move for is, coincidentally, another Brazilian by the name of Thiago Silva of Fluminese.
This weekend however, Milan will have to make to with who is available, as they go in search of their eighth win of the campaign.
