Current Bernd Schuster's Bernabéu future was already in doubt before his troops failed to overturn a first leg Copa disadvantage and crashed out of the competition at the hands of unfancied Real Union. Now, it's suffice to say, Schuster could face the boot if results and performances don't improve quickly.
In fact, the paper suggests that Los Merengues will make mincemeat out of his contract if Madrid can't smash Real Valladolid at the weekend.
Now, the same paper and other reports in the Spanish press are linking recent Tottenham boss Juande Ramos with Los Blancos. Ramos was sacked from his post at White Hart Lane recently, after he lost the dressing room and failed to inspire his side despite a summer of big spending.
Ramos' agent Gines Carvajal has reportedly been bending the ear of Madrid captain Raul, whom he also represents.
Many in his homeland still believe that Ramos can do the business. He's built up good experience throughout this decade whilst at the helm of Betis, Espanyol, Málaga and Sevilla, leading the latter to back-to-back UEFA Cup wins before heading to the English Premier League.
Agent Carvajal is known to have friends on the Real Madrid board and Ramos will surely be mentioned in discussions, but it remains to be seen whether the job is too big for him, especially given his surely fragile confidence after his North London nightmare.
