The White Angels defeated India by a solitary goal to book themselves a spot in the AFC Challenge Cup in 2014 leaving India with a lot of head-scratching to do....

Myanmar coach Park Sung-Hwa was no doubt a happy man after he saw his young team topple the much-fancied Indians in the final qualifying match of Group A in the AFC Challenge Cup qualifiers. The White Angels registered a 1-0 victory over Wim Koevermans' side and ensuring that they will play the 2014 AFC Challenge Cup in Maldives.

The host nation came into this game needing a win to stand a chance to qualify as they had drawn to Chinese Taipei after a very convincing 5-0 win over Guam on Matchday 1. Myanmar were crippled ahead of the India clash as three of their strikers were out injured and the coach had revealed during the post-match conference after the Taipei game that he may have to ask some of his midfield players to play a striker's role.

"Today we got a ticket for the tournament finals. The players worked really hard and the support in the stadium was great. Usually, players need to rest for 48 hours. Guam's win over Chinese Taipei was this reason. India is a strong team, so I had to rest a lot of key players in the earlier game. Soe Min Oo, who scored in today's match is a great player, but he still carried an injury and had not fully recovered. Overall, I am happy about this result," said the Myanmar coach.
