2006 winners Tajikistan are through to the semis of the 2010 AFC Challenge Cup as winners of Group A after beating Myanmar 3-0, who also progress to the last four as group runners-up.

Goals from Ibragim Rabimov, Numondzhon Khakimov and Yusuf Rabiev gave Pulod Kodirov's side a convincing victory.

Myanmar needed only a draw from this game to reach the semis and were also missing a few players yet they started on the front foot from the very start.
Their first real chance fell to forward Aung Kyaw Moe who forced a smart save off Tajikistan keeper Tuychiev Alisher.

A couple of minutes later skipper Myo Min Tun did well to get his shot on target but it was straight into the hands of Tuychiev.

Those two Myanmar efforts brought Tajikistan to life as Numondzhon Khakimov’s powerful shot tested Myanmar keeper Aung Aung Oo.

Myanmar had a golden opportunity to take the lead in the 32nd minute when  Kyaw Moe got a clear sight of goal but the forward’s poor first touch allowed Tuychiev to save at feet.

A minute later, Tajikistan earned a free-kick from a very promising position. Ibragim Rabimov stepped up to take the kick and found the top corner with precision to give his side the lead.

Pai Soe nearly found the equalizer just before the break but his header failed to find the target.

The second half started in the way the first ended as both sides looked to attack but Myanmar were the ambitious of the two.

Eight minutes into the second period, Tajikistan went two up through Numondzhon Khakimov, who found the back of the net after Khurshed Makhmudov’s initial effort came off the crossbar.

Khakimov should have bagged the third a few minutes later but his header from Fatkhullo Fatkhuloev's cross was saved comfortably by Myanmar custodian Aung Oo.

Myanmar tried their best to make their way back into the match but Tajikistan were finishing the game stronger and eventually did find the third goal two minutes before the 90 when Yusuf Rabiev scored from close range following Aung Oo’s failure to deal with Rabimov’s powerful shot.

The result not only takes Tajikistan to the semis but also makes them winners of the group. Myanmar were second best in this game but the previous two wins were enough to take them to the last four.
