India lost their final round robin game against the West Asians on Saturday and considering Syria’s rank in the FIFA’s list, which is way above the 156 Indian has got to show, Fajer Ibrahim’s side were the favourites.

Goal.com conducted a poll asking the readers whether India could or couldn’t defend their Nehru Cup title.

More than 75% of the readers had no qualms in backing India to achieve one of the greatest wins in their history.

Around 15% were the skeptical lot while only a meagre percentage felt that Syria would triumph this time around having lost the finals in the 2007 edition.

Results:

Can India Win The Nehru Cup?

Yes – 76.92%

Maybe – 15.38%

No – 7.69%
