Santos vice-president rejects Ganso exit
By Luis Mira
10-Jul-2012 5:00:00 AM
The 2011 Copa Libertadores champions are paying little attention to comments made by the investment company's owner, reminding him that the player has a contract with the club
Santos vice-president Odilio Rodrigues has insisted that the club are not thinking about letting Ganso leave. The 22-year-old's future has been thrown into doubt after Delcir Sonda, owner of the investment company DIS, which owns 55 per cent of the midfielder's economic rights, claimed on Sunday that the player would not star for his employers again.
However, the official has played down such remarks, insisting that Santos have no intention of parting company with the Brazil international.
"There is no such thing as Ganso not playing again for Santos," Rodrigues told Globoesporte. "He did not play against Gremio on Sunday because of some physical problems.
"We would not like to comment on such matters. He is a player of Santos and has a contract until 2015."
