Goal.com names Omar Abdulrahman as its Asian Player of the Month
The Gulf Cup of Nations MVP beat out a host of other top Asian talent to be considered for the honour by Goal.com Asia staff
Goal.com staff have selected midfielder Omar Abdulrahman as their Asian Player of the Month for January. The 21-year-old was chosen from the month's best Asian representatives for his stunning performance in the Gulf Cup of Nations, where he secured the gold medal for the United Arab Emirates with two goals and two assists throughout the tournament, rightfully securing the competition's Most Valuable Player award.
'Amoory', as he's called by supporters, raised his profile even further after a London 2012 appearance that earned him a trial at Manchester City and saw other European clubs express interest. With seven goals in 15 appearances so far thus season for Al Ain, it would seem that Abdulrahman is only beginning to show his potential.
But having already won the Pro League, Emirates Cup, and Super Cup with the club that made him a pro, it's clear that greater challenges lie ahead and Goal.com Asia looks forward to his progress.
Check out Abdulrahman and the rest of the Goal.com Asian Best XI for January 2013 here!
