Euro 2012 champions Cesc Fabregas and Xabi Alonso to visit Indonesia for promotional events
The Spanish duo, who played a significant part in their national team triumph in Poland and Ukraine, will be in South-East Asia this month for commercial duties
Spanish Euro 2012 champions Cesc Fabregas and Xabi Alonso will head to Indonesia this month as representatives for promotional events. The former Arsenal captain, who already visited the country for similar reasons last year, will be the first of the Spanish duo to arrive in the capital Jakarta as a brand ambassador for a local biscuit company.
The Barcelona star will also play a match with the Fabregas and Friends team against an Indonesia Selection guided by national team coach Nil Maizar.
“My holiday have (sic) officially started today. I'll start it by going to have lunch in the best restaurant in London before I fly to INDONESIA!!!!” Fabregas wrote on his official Twitter account on Tuesday, before adding “Jakarta here I come!!” in another post.
Real Madrid star Xabi Alonso will then join his compatriot in Jakarta on Saturday to pop up in the “Indonesia Menendang Bola” event, conducted by a club sponsor, which will be held at the National Monument in the country's biggest city.
Both the players had major roles in Spain's triumph at Euro 2012, where they hammered Italy 4-0 in the final contested in Kiev on July 1.
