AFC Cup: Al Karamah Coach Pleased With Away Win

Al Karamah coach Mohamad Kwid has expressed his delight at his side's 4-0 demolition of Indian giants Mohun Bagan on Tuesday.

AFC Cup: Mohun Bagan vs Al Karamah (Mango Peel)

Al Karamah thrashed Bagan 4-0 at the Howrah Stadium in Kolkata on Tuesday in a Group D match in the AFC Cup. The win secures them a place in the second round of the competition and leaves their coach very happy.

Mohamad Kwid has been quoted as saying by www.the-afc.com after the match, "It was an important match for us. We wanted those three points. Our defending was good and we forced Mohun Bagan to commit errors. This kind of win was exactly what we needed before a tough second round."

Kwid, though, did think that Bagan made it a bit easy for them by lacking an interest in a game that was meaningless for the Kolkata powerhouse.

The Al Karamah coach said, "It was a surprise but the absence of players like Peter Odafe, Sangram Mukherjee (goalkeeper) and Marcos Pereira did no good for Mohun Bagan. Also, they looked tired and seemed to lack interest in the game."
