Vietnam Bidding For Manchester United And Milan Visits

According to reports in Vietnam, European giants Manchester United and Milan could visit South East Asia in the summer of 2009.

The chairman of the Vietnamese Football Association (VFA), Nguyen Trong Hy, has told local media that the body is negotiation with foreign investors to arrange the friendly matches.

He also added that Greek giants Olympiakos will visit in May.  

The matches are part of plans to celebrate the 1,000th anniversary of Hanoi.  

“Guest teams to the Thang Long Cup must be continental or globally reputed teams,” Hy confirmed.

The VFA paid around $500,000 in July to arrange a friendly between the national team and the Brazilian Olympic team.
