World Cup 2010: South Africans Divided In Their Support Of Final Contenders Spain And The Netherlands spoke to fans of the host nation, and neither of the two final contenders could claim exclusive support.
The biggest game of the last four years is underway, and was wondering who the locals would favour in the battle between Spain and the Netherlands. After speaking to a number of South Africans, it was clear that the support was divided amongst both of the European finalists.

Gregory told, "I am not bothered by who wins, I am glad it will be a new champion. So today I am wearing a red top for Spain and an Orange cap to also support the Dutch."

Twenty-year-old student Chanelle commented, "Spain is the team to support. They have played really well and I am hoping they win tonight. David Villa has played very well and maybe he win score again against Netherlands."

Stephen believes that both of the teams in question are on an equal footing. "They are both excellent and they are probably the two teams that deserve to be in the final. I can't choose between them in terms of quality, but I think I would like the Dutch to win our World Cup."

Finally, Sfiso from Soweto added, "The final puts an end to the tournament and it will be a great ending I'm sure. Spain can take it, but it will depend of the top players in each team and how they play on the day. I want to see penalties."
