Khedira wants well earned rest...
Germany match winner Sami Khedira is looking forward to the holidays after heading his side to a third-place World Cup finish.
It was Khedira who struck eight minutes from time to bag the winner in a narrow 3-2 win over Uruguay.
And, although he hopes to be a part of future successes, the midfielder is eager for a break.
"We are happy with the way we played as we gave our maximum in this game. We are happy to have won," he told the press after the game as reported by Sky Sport Italia.
"I would say we showed our character. We all showed out strengths in this game and you could see what happened in the end.
"Now we will rest and take a break, we are a young team, but we want more and to obtain better and bigger results."
Khedira was asked what he thought about Joachim Loew's future as Germany coach as he ponders his next move amid speculation he could stay on.
"Loew? We are happy for the way we play as a team with him, but the coach decides his future," he concluded.
