World Cup 2010: Conflicting Reports Over Wesley Sneijder's Fitness To Play In Netherlands - Spain Final
Spanish reports claim Sneijder could be in doubt for the final, Dutch news suggests he is good to play...
Netherlands playmaker Wesley Sneijder could be in doubt for the World Cup final against Spain, according to a worrying report by AS, but news in Holland is that the problem is not serious enough to exclude him from starting. The Spanish paper reports Sneijder encountered physical problems during a double training session on Friday. And despite training behind closed doors, reporters managed to pick up on issues surrounding the player.
He had to come off for treatment and massages to his legs as the others continued with their ball work. And despite returning to the session, Sneijder had to come off a second time for further treatment.
The race is now on to recover him and ensure he plays. Yet, despite Spanish reports, the news filtering through from the Netherlands is that Sneijder complained of some pain, but it is not serious enough to rule him out of the final.
