thumbnail Hello,

The Selecao coach has defended his player, saying the yellow and red cards he has received are mostly unmerited.

Brazil coach Dunga insisted today that playmaker Kaka's discipline does not worry him, despite a flurry of cards in the tournament for the Real Madrid star.

Normally known for his fantastic talent and creative genius, what has stood out most in South Africa has been Kaka's indiscipline. The player has amassed two yellow cards and one expulsion in just three games.

And another booking in today's tough clash would see the player, who is integral to Dunga's playing system for the Selecao, miss out on the semi-final, should Brazil overcome a strong Holland side.

But Dunga earlier insisted that he is not concerned with this possibility, as he spoke to reporters at a press conference.

"Kaka is intelligent, he is aware of his importance to the team in this cup run," the coach argued when posed the question of the player being suspended for potentially crucial matches.

And the 1994 winning captain also defended his player on two of the three cards he has received so far, asserting that they were the result of constant foul play against the star.

"If I kept kicking you for the entire game and you picked up the yellow, you would not like it. Kaka is the most-fouled player in this team; and of the three cards he has been given only the last was in any way justified."
