Spain midfielder Sergi Busquets was glad to avoid Brazil in the first knock-out round of the World Cup finals after their 2-1 Group H win over Chile set up a meeting with neighbours Portugal in Cape Town on Tuesday.
Busquets acknowledged that Spain did not start well but insisted they were confident they could overcome the South Americans, which they did thanks to goals from Andres Iniesta and David Villa.
"We did not start as well as we wanted, but we had confidence that we were going to get ahead. Villa 's goal gave us peace of mind. They pressurised us but we knew we could deal with this, tightening up," he was quoted as saying by AS.
"We got distracted from our game plan but played like a team. Brazil would very difficult, we saw that in the Confederations Cup but Portugal is also a hard game for us. Now it is all life or death."
