Ronaldo delighted with team performance…

Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed his delight at Portugal’s 7-0 trouncing of North Korea this afternoon, admitting he was happy with his goal and that the whole team deserved credit for a first rate performance.

"My goal was fun to score,” the Real Madrid forward told the club's official website.

“I am very happy. Scoring seven goals in a World Cup game isn't an easy thing to do. I think my team-mates deserve congratulations.”

Portugal came into the match with many predicting that they would find it hard to break down a dogged North Korea side intent on defending in numbers, but the Seleccao cruised to a comprehensive victory and Ronaldo admitted any one of his colleagues could be singled out for fine individual performances but that Tiago impressed him the most.

“Three or four players deserved to be named Man of the Match but Tiago in particular,” he said.

Portugal round off their Group G campaign against Brazil on Friday and are virtually assured of a place in the second round.
