thumbnail Hello,

Brazil stars pleased with the win...

Brazil stars Kaka and Robinho insisted that their narrow 2-1 win over North Korea in their opening World Cup Group G encounter was a good result for the Selecao.

After a scoreless first half Maicon fired the South Americans in front before Elano added a second midway through the second period. The plucky Chollima pulled one back through Yun Nam Ji late on but Brazil held on for the three points.

"I am happy with my first game and glad that I made it to the World Cup considering all my injuries this season.  I am happy that I was able to play today and that I was given a chance. The result is good and I feel good," Real Madrid star Kaka told the assembled press after the game before adding that their opponents made it difficult.

"The played very well, they kept us out and did everything to try stop us from scoring, but in the second half we created a lot of space and we were able to score two goals."

Team-mate Robinho insisted that Brazil's superiority was clearly evident as he immediately turned his focus to the next game against Ivory Coast on June 21.

"We were stronger than them and it showed in the result. We won comfortably and now we must think of the next game and prepare for that," he declared.
