The tactician is ready for major changes…
“That’s for sure…” the Nazionale manager told Sky Sport 24.
Lippi has overlooked fan favourites such as Antonio Cassano and Fabrizio Miccoli, and added: “Dissent is ever-present in Italy and someone has even admitted it publicly this time around.
“Be it for political reasons or because a player was not called up, that’s the way it is. But I have come to terms with it, not even the Pope gets an absolute consensus.”
The 28-man provisional squad has arrived at the training camp in Sestriere where they will be put through their paces over the next days before Lippi announces his last five cuts before the 1 June deadline.
“They will all be under scrutiny until June and my final choices will depend on the things I evaluate in these ten days,” said Lippi before revealing that he is looking to build a chameleon-like team.
“You will see a side that can adapt to several formations during a game.
“Our strengths will be a united purpose, consistence and organization that give us balance. And a three-man backline is not just a whisper, but a potential option...”
