World Cup 2010: Italy's Fabio Cannavaro Envisages Cesare Prandelli As Marcello Lippi's Future Replacement

Cannavaro feels Prandelli can do the job if called upon...
Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro has said Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli has the right credentials to take the hot seat from Marcello Lippi after the World Cup.

Although the FIGC have not confirmed a Lippi exit officially, it has been reported he will leave his post following the South African football fest next month.

Prandelli has been strongly linked with the job, and Cannavaro believes he would be best suited for the role.

"Prandelli is a coach with great experience and he knows how to work with young people also," Cannavaro told Sky Sport 24.

"He has managed in the Champions League regularly and has lots of experience. I worked with him briefly at Parma and even then you could understand his qualities."

Asked whether Prandelli has what it takes to lead la Nazionale, Cannavaro said: "He's not bad."
