Manchester United Star Wayne Rooney Hopes England Can Win World Cup 2010

Striker ready to fire Three Lions to glory...

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is very happy with the way his career is currently going with both his club and country.

The striker has netted 30 goals in 37 games this season in all competitions, with his brace against AC Milan on Wednesday evening. helping blast the Red devils into the last eight of the Champions League.

with the World Cup in South Africa on the horizon, Rooney certainly feels that things are going well heading into the tournament.

"We're in a great position with Manchester United," he told Sky Sports News.

"Top of the league at the minute and through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

"And obviously with England we're going well, and we're preparing right."

And the striker is optimisitc that Fabio Capello's Three Lions can go all the way in the summer and win the World Cup.

"Hopefully by the time we meet up with England we'll have great tournament," he added.

"You never know, hopefully we'll have this [the World Cup trophy] back here at the end of July."
