World Cup 2010: Tickets Continue To Sell Well

The sale of World Cup tickets continues to go well in the fourth phase of sales, with 117,589 tickets sold since last week.

The first seven days of the fourth ticket sales phase for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa has seen a total of 117,589 tickets being sold across 119 countries. 99,042 of those tickets have been sold to South African residents.

About 11,500 applications are still being processed. This second-last sales phase will run until April 7. Applications are dealt with on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis.

As of yesterday, football fans can now apply for tickets by phone by calling the Call Centre (open from 08:00 – 17:00 CET, 09:00 – 18:00 South African Time):

−        South African number: 083 123 2010
−        International number: +41 44583 2010

Apart from South Africa, the countries with the most tickets sold in this phase are: USA 4,327, UK 1,964, Mexico 1,898, Australia 1,231 and Germany 1,193.

Since last Tuesday, a total of 110,583 individual match tickets have been sold, as well as 7,006 team-specific series tickets. More than 400,000 tickets were made available for the fourth ticketing sales phase.
