WCQ: Ukraine v Greece (INTIME)
After securing a 0-0 draw at home against Ukraine, Greece have sealed their qualification to the World Cup finals through Demetris Salpingidis' 31st minute goal.

The goalscorer believes that their progression is a fantastic achievement for the Greeks and has hit back at the squad's critics.

"This is a huge achievement for Greek football," he told the Greek Football Association's official website.

"It's a day of celebration for all of us and also for all the Greeks throughout the world. We believed in ourselves from the start, we got the qualification and this is the answer to all the critics from last time."

It is only the second time Greece have qualified for the World Cup finals and have not done so since 1994, and star striker Angelos Charisteas believes that their progression is well-earned.

"I think it was a fair qualification. All the lads have put their heart and soul into this game. We played with passion and intelligence and scored a great goal. We played like we weren't beating Ukraine, like we were losing."
