Portugal Coach Carlos Queiroz: We Will Attack Against Bosnia-Herzegovina
The Portuguese travel to Zenica with attacking intentions...
Portugal recorded a narrow 1-0 home win against Bosnia-Herzegovina last weekend and they cannot afford to slip up on Wednesday for the return leg. Some might expect the Portuguese to make defending their 1-0 lead their main priority, but head coach Carlos Queiroz has made it clear that his men will come to Zenica with attacking intentions.
“We’re here with a purpose: to attack and to search for a goal. From the first minute our attitude will be one looking to score. We want to impose our rhythm and our ability, we want to start with a sense of urgency that this game calls for,” Queiroz said at a press conference.
"We are here fully motivated and fully concentrated. On the pitch there will only be the officials and the players and what will count above all is the experience and maturity of both teams.
"The pitch itself is not in the best of conditions. But this is the pitch we’re playing on and it’s not worth wasting time talking about it. It’s here that we’re going to have to the win the game."
