Cameroon Can Cause World Cup Surprise - Samuel Eto'o
Goal.com spoke to Inter star Samuel Eto'o after he had helped Cameroon qualify for the World Cup finals at the weekend...
Goal.com: Samuel, it has not been easy to win a place at the World Cup finals.
Eto'o: We have shown our character and quality after a bad start, but what was important was the final result. We have given our fans something to celebrate after missing out on the World Cup in Germany in 2006. It will be a chance for me gain revenge.
Goal.com: What do you think the Indomitable Lions can achieve in South Africa?
Eto'o: We have a good team with young players and veterans - a great mixture. I am optimistic. Cameroon could well cause a surprise at the World Cup finals.
Goal.com: What is your opinion on coach Paul Le Guen?
Eto'o: He has united us at the most difficult times, when we had to win games. He is a great psychologist and a coach with modern ideas of play. The players all want him to stay for the Africa Cup of Nations and the World Cup.
Goal.com: Which area of the team is strongest?
Eto'o: The whole team played at a great level and each player gave everything. We are a unit and that is why we have succeeded.
Goal.com: Who are the favourites for the African Cup of Nations?
Eto'o: We will be competing with Ivory Coast, Ghana and Nigeria. It will not be easy to win the trophy.
