We Rode Our Luck Against Bosnia - Portugal Midfielder Deco
The Chelsea star has made it clear that things could have gone bad for Portugal last Saturday. In addition, he has revealed the key to success for his men on Wednesday evening...
Deco has confessed that Portugal were happy to claim a 1-0 victory in their World Cup first leg play-off encounter against Bosnia-Herzegovina last Saturday.
Carlos Queiroz's men dominated play but the Bosnians never stopped fighting and came close to shocking their opponents more than once. However, the Portuguese eventually recorded a solid 1-0 victory, courtesy of a Bruno Alves goal.
"In the end we had some luck, but even this advantage is not decisive. The important thing was not conceding," Deco told Portuguese reporters.
"It was a difficult game, but overall we were better and controlled almost the whole game.
"In Zenica, if we score a goal there, everything will be easier. But we must be very intelligent and we must keep the ball."
Bosnia will be gunning for revenge on Wednesday, when the second leg of the World Cup play-off is to take place.
