Sergio Aguero A Doubt For Argentina - Spain Friendly Clash
The frontman could miss the friendly match after sustaining a knock in the derby defeat...
Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero is a major doubt for Argentina’s international friendly against European Champions Spain next weekend after aggravating an injury in the 3-2 defeat to Real Madrid on Saturday evening.
The prodigious striker came off the bench to net a consolation goal in the derby encounter, but did not take part in his club’s training session today and was noticeably limping towards the end of the match.
Jose Antonio Reyes, Simao, Diego Forlan and Antonio Lopez also picked up knocks in the match and were also excluded from training due to various physical discomforts.
Sport reports that Aguero will be assessed in the week ahead and a decision will be made closer to the fixture whether the 21-year old can be included in coach Diego Maradona’s squad for the match next Saturday.
The friendly match is ironically taking place at the Estadio Vicente Calderon, home ground to Atletico Madrid, and where Aguero regularly plies his trade.
