Real Madrid & Argentina Striker Higuain Refuses To Be Drawn On Maradona Controversy

He says he is happy with helping the Albiceleste qualify for the World Cup...

Gonzalo Higuain - Argentina-Peru
Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain has returned to the Spanish capital from international duty with Argentina and declared himself happy with helping the Albiceleste secure their spot at the World Cup in South Africa next summer but refused to comment on the controversy surrounding national team coach Diego Maradona.

Maradona is the subject of a FIFA investigation after a tirade of abuse directed at Argentine journalists after he guided Argentina to the World Cup with a win over Uruguay on Wednesday night.

"I will not go into those details. We are all delighted that Diego has helped us qualify for the finals. We're happy for him, for us and for the people,' Higuain was quoted as saying by AS.

Higuain scored his first goal for Argentina on his debut in last weekend's crucial win over Peru last weekend and declared himself happy with the qualification for the finals.

"I'm happy because we have achieved our goal," Higuain remarked.
