Suffering Makes Victory All The Much Sweeter - Juan Sebastian Veron
´La Brujita´ was relieved with Argentina´s eventual World Cup qualification...
Juan Sebastian Veron, the best player on the field in Argentina´s 1-0 victory over Uruguay, affirmed that his side "suffered a lot in the World Cup qualifiers, but everything turned out well."
"When you suffer every achievement has more value. We reached our objective," stated the Estudiantes de La Plata playmaker.
"Now the coach [Diego Maradona] will have the necessary time to find the team which the Argentine people will like. This hasn´t been easy."
Veron believes Argentina pulled out the victory because they were "determined" to do so, and that they controlled the Uruguayans.
Meanwhile, Mario Bolatti, who scored Argentina´s winner, explained that Los Albicelestes won the game because they "played in an intelligent manner, always controlling the game and taking advantage of the desperation of the Uruguayans."
The Huracan midfielder claimed Veron as to being the best player on the field, and he said "it is an honour to play alongside him."
"We knew that we couldn´t go crazy as we searched for the result, we played with their desperation. We were intelligent and we ended up winning."
In respect to the goal he scored to hand his side the victory and essentially World Cup qualification, Bolatti stated, "It was the first ball I touched, luckily I placed it well and it went in."
