The AC Milan director addressed various issues affecting the club including the future of the Italy international and the potential departure of Kaka
The daughter of Silvio Berlusconi, Milan’s owner, spoke about the future of players Mario Balotelli and Kaka, and also addressed the replacement of coach Clarence Seedorf with Filippo Inzaghi.
“Balotelli is a great player,” she began, talking to gathered journalists at the launch of a Milan cruise. “But nobody is irreplaceable. We will see what happens.”
The striker has been linked with a return to the Premier League, with Arsenal named as potential suitors, while fellow Serie A side Napoli are also reported to be interested in his signature.
As well as Balotelli, Kaka is another high-profile player linked with a move away from the San Siro.
New Major League Soccer franchise Orlando City Soccer Club are in talks with the Brazilian playmaker but, as yet, no deal has been confirmed.
“I know that Kaka is making an important decision,” Berlusconi said. “He has to make that decision with absolute calmness.
“We will be happy if Kaka stays, but we will accept if he wants to leave.”
It has already been a summer of change at Milan, and Berlusconi also took the opportunity to thank Seedorf for his short stint in charge of the club.
“Seedorf came to Milan during a difficult period, but he did well as Milan’s coach.
“I wish Seedorf all the best in his future career and I think he will do well in the clubs that he will coach.”
Former forward Filippo Inzaghi has been confirmed as the Dutchman's replacement, and Berlusconi was keen to advocate the new man’s qualities.
“Inzaghi has a winner's mentality, and we are sure that he will do well as Milan's coach.
"I wish Inzaghi all the best, and I hope that his enthusiasm will spread to all the players in the squad."
