The Nerazzurri approach the game in decent form, having lost only one of their last six matches, while Livorno have won just once in as many games.
But Mazzarri feels his side can’t afford to underestimate their opponents as they look to maintain their battle for European football next season.
“Every game in Serie A is tough,” he told reporters in his press conference. “They're all tricky, plus Livorno have strong support. They need points.
“You need to approach every opponent in the best way possible right from the beginning, then when we have the ball we have to try and finish as soon as possible.
“We'll do everything we can to put in a good performance at Livorno.”
Mazzarri met with club president Erick Thohir this week to discuss the club’s transfer plans for the summer, but the former Napoli boss stayed quiet on the matter.
“All I can say is that it confirmed we're on the same page. As a coach, when I take on a job, it’s as if the club were mine, so I don’t need added motivation, though the president helps to motivate us all in any case.”
