thumbnail Hello,

The Serie A champions have made the striker available but the Biancocelesti are more concerned with holding onto Antonio Candreva and Senad Lulic

Lazio president Claudio Lotito has revealed that he has no interest in signing Juventus forward Alessandro Matri.

The former Cagliari striker has been deemed surplus to requirements in Turin, following the summer arrivals of Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente.

Lazio and AC Milan have both been put forward as potential destinations but Lotito insists that the Biancocelesti will not be making a move for the 28-year-old attacker, whose current deal runs until 2017.

"We have never negotiated for him," he told Sky Sport24. "He is not our objective, for a number of reasons."

Lotito explained that his primary focus at the moment is holding onto Antonio Candreva and Senad Lulic, both of whom have been linked with moves away from the Stadio Olimpico.

"We want to strengthen the team and not weaken it," he declared. "We rely on [Candreva], as well as on Lulic.

"We have rejuvenated the squad, trying to find a mix of experienced players and young players that can attain the mentality of a great team."

Lazio only finished seventh in Serie A last season but ended their campaign on a massive high by beating city rivals Roma in the final of the Coppa Italia.
