The former Romania international insists reports alleging he was prepared to take legal action against the club's medical staff were falsifiedCristian Chivu has rubbished a report that he considered suing the Inter medical staff over their handling of the foot injury that saw him miss half the season.
The 32-year-old went underwent an operation last August but the procedure was not a success and he had to have corrective surgery just two months later.
However, even though he only managed to return to action in December, Chivu insists that he never thought about taking legal action.
"I never considered suing professor Franco Benazzo, nor the Inter medical staff either," the versatile defender told his club's official website.
"Even though I’m not directly responsible for what was published in these newspapers, I’d like to apologise to the doctors involved for these false reports that damage their reputations and sense of professionalism.
"On the contrary, I’ve always appreciated their work and hold them to be internationally renowned professionals of the highest order."
Injuries have restricted Chivu, who joined the Nerazzurri from Roma in 2007, to a total of 10 Serie A appearances this season.
