thumbnail Hello,

The Argentine wing-back has voiced his dismay with the official's performance at the Giuseppe Meazza on Sunday as the Nerazzurri were defeated on home turf

Inter skipper Javier Zanetti has hit out at referee Andrea Gervasoni in the wake of the Nerazzurri's 4-3 Serie A loss against Atalanta on Sunday evening.

Gervasoni awarded the Bergamo side a questionable penalty halfway through the second half, which eventually proved to be the start of Atalanta's comeback as they scored three goals in the final 25 minutes to bag the full three points at San Siro.

Zanetti was far from impressed with the arbiter's decision making and vented his frustation over the team's dispute with the official over whether Walter Samuel had handled the ball.

"I’ve been through many negative situations like the one from this evening, but lately they always happen to us," Zanetti was quoted as saying on the official Inter website.

"I’m talking about the non-existent penalty that Atalanta received, which is really shameful. He told us he saw a handball from Samuel and we told him he’d see from the replay that it was never there. The replays speak for themselves.

"I won’t say any more about it because I don’t want us to risk punishment for these things as well."

Inter currently sit fifth in the Serie A table, trailing third-placed AC Milan by eight points.
