The 31-year-old scored three goals in 12 minutes to help his side to an unlikely 4-3 victory at San Siro, having trailed 3-1 with just over half an hour to play.
"I just do what the coach asks of me and what we prepare in training. I have learned a lot since I arrived in this country because it is necessary to learn hard work," he told Sky Sport.
"Italian football is among the most difficult in the world and it is difficult to maintain your form."
The Argentine also insisted he was under no illusions about his chances of earning more caps for the Argentina set-up in spite of his heroics.
"It is hard because I need to be scoring twice the number of goals to compete with all the great players Argentina have," he continued.
