The Blucerchiati coach felt his team failed to take advantage of their opportunities, and admitted a gulf in quality between the two sides

Sampdoria coach Delio Rossi has admitted his side lacked the quality to test Inter as his side went down 2-0 on Wednesday evening in Serie A.

Rodrigio Palacio netted twice for Inter, and although the Sampdoria boss praised his team, he admitted the side's lack of finishing abiity cost his side the points.

“Inter were more clinical and scored during our best period of the game. That is the difference between big teams and normal ones," he told reporters after the game.

“Inter are on a different level to us in terms of quality, but my Sampdoria were always in the game and controlled the tempo well. We just lost momentum in the final third."

Rossi also said his players had lost focus at key moments, adding: "If you lose, then it certainly means you weren’t attentive enough on the decisive incidents."

The result leaves Sampdoria in 13th place in the table, 10 points clear of the relegation zone.
