Antonini: I want to play in the Premier League
The 30-year-old left-back has revealed a desire to play in the Premier League amid speculation linking him with a move away from Italy
AC Milan defender Luca Antonini has freely admitted to harbouring an ambition to play in the English Premier League. The 30-year-old has fallen out of favour at San Siro this season and had reportedly courted interest from various clubs around Europe in the January transfer window, including Russia, but Antonini says England would be his preferred destination if he were to leave Italy.
"I'd like to play abroad, especially in the Premier League," he told Sky Sport Italia. "Russia? Yes it's true that there was something going on back in January, but now I want to get my shirt back for the Rossoneri."
The left-back was also criticised the behaviour of team-mate Stephen El Shaarawy for his reaction to being substituted in Sunday's 2-0 win over Palermo.
“El Shaarawy was annoyed when he left the pitch yesterday against Palermo, and I don't know why," he added. "He decided to go directly into the dressing room instead of sitting on the bench, and that's not the right thing to do."
