Hernanes: Champions League our ultimate objective
The Biancocelesti's Brazil international believes a win in Saturday's tie with their Serie A rivals will put them in the driving seat when it comes to a Champions League spot
Lazio midfielder Hernanes has said that this weekend’s clash between his club and AC Milan will be crucial in deciding which of the two sides qualify for next season’s Champions League.
The Biancocelesti are currently third in Serie A, two points ahead of the Rossoneri who are fourth.
“At the weekend we have another very important game, one that will be decisive. There are only two months left this season, so from now on every match will be decisive and can define our path in this campaign,” he told reporters.
Hernanes added that their 2-0 win over Pescara, the team’s first in five games, has given the team a much-needed lift.
“Last night we had an important result that boosts confidence and revives spirits for this final part of the season,” he said.
“After five matches without a win we were rewarded for our efforts and remain in the Champions League place, which is our ultimate objective."
