Ambrosini: I'll rock out to Springsteen if Milan win the derby

The Rossoneri captain has promised to make some changes to the usual dressing room playlist if his side celebrate victory over Inter

Massimo Ambrosini says that he will take the opportunity to blast out one of Bruce Springsteen's classic albums should AC Milan overcome Inter in Sunday's Serie A encounter.

The Rossoneri veteran, who has played 393 times for the club, has already revealed his celebration plans if his team secure victory at San Siro, a Milan derby which may prove to be his last.

"Sulley Muntari has taken control of the stereo in the dressing room and is constantly pelting us with R’n’B music," the 35-year-old complained to Corriere dello Sport.

"Seeing as I don’t like it, if we win the derby I’ll knock it all down and turn on Bruce Springsteen’s 'Born to Run' at full volume."

The Italian midfielder, who has been at the club since joining from Cesana in 1995, also revealed how much he would relish a win in the fixture, which he concedes may be his final derby as a Rossoneri player.

"I scored my first Serie A goal against Inter when I was playing for Vicenza," he added.

"I’d pay good money to get a goal on Sunday night! It would be like coming full circle.

"I’d like to continue playing, but we know the club is looking to renewal and bringing in youth, so we’ll see. If I were to leave Milan, I certainly would not join another Italian club."

Ambrosini could not hide his excitement for the game and also spoke of the most memorable clash with the Nerazzurri that he has been involved in.

"The 2003 Champions League derby in the semi final was the most wonderful," the former Italy international continued.

"The tension was unbelievable. It’s lucky we played both legs in six days, otherwise we might’ve collapsed."

Milan go into the game sat in third in Serie A with 44 points from 25 games, only one point ahead of Inter in fifth.
