Milito 'moved' by Inter support
The Argentine striker picked up a nasty knee injury early in the club's 2-0 win over Cluj on Thursday and looks set to miss the rest of the season
Inter forward Diego Milito has expressed his gratitude for the support he has received in the aftermath of the season-ending injury he sustained in the Italian side’s 2-0 win over Cluj.
Nerazzurri head coach Andrea Stramaccioni was the first to extend his well wishes towards the striker after Thursday's Europa League last 32 first leg, in which the Argentine was stretchered off after awkwardly twisting his knee seven minutes in.
Milito released a statement on Friday in which he thanked fellow Serie A clubs for their support, and stressed he will attempt to use the commiseration to motivate him back to full fitness.
He said to Inter’s official website: "I would like to thank all of the people who sent me messages of affection last night.
"I'd like to thank president [Massimo] Moratti, my team-mates and everyone else at Inter.
"And thank you to Genoa, Milan and Fiorentina for your kind words.
"But most of all, thank you to the Nerazzurri fans who have moved me with their support.
"All this love gives me an incredible charge and I will give my all to return to the pitch as soon as possible."
