'Milito needs to hang in there' - Handanovic pledges support to stricken team-mate
The Nerazzurri goalkeeper has told the Argentine to remain strong as he begins the long road to recovery after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament
Samir Handanovic has urged Inter team-mate Diego Milito to stay strong as he starts his recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament. The Argentine's season was ended during the Nerazzurri's 2-0 win over Cluj on Thursday, and it rumoured that his career could be in doubt.
However, the former Udinese goalkeeper has pledged to support his colleague through the recovery process.
"Milito needs to hang in there," he told the club's official website.
"It's going to be a long way back, but he just has to stick it out."
Milito had found the net for Inter nine times in 20 Serie A games this season prior to suffering the injury.
