Tacchinardi: Only Barcelona better than Juventus

The former Juve defender is optimistic about the side's chances of going all the way in Europe and sees the Catalans as their biggest rivals

Former Italy international Alessio Tacchinardi believes only Barcelona are in a better position than Juventus to win the Champions League following the Bianconeri's 3-0 win over Celtic on Tuesday.

Goals from Alessandro Matri, Claudio Marchisio and Mirko Vucinic helped the Serie A champions to victory in the first leg of their round of 16 tie, and Tacchinardi is confident that Juventus can go far in the competition.

"At the moment, Juventus are only inferior to Barcelona in Europe. I don't really believe in Real Madrid's chances as they have shown in La Liga that they're having problems," Tacchinardi told TuttoMercatoWeb.

"Juventus put in a great performance against Celtic. It's true that the draw was in their favour, but Conte's team did a great job."

The second leg of the Champions League round of 16 tie between Juventus and Celtic takes place on March 6 in Turin.
