De Sciglio: Inter turned me down
By Stefan Coerts

The young defender's performances for AC Milan have caught the eye this term, but he could very well have been playing for their arch rivals
AC Milan youngster Mattia De Sciglio has revealed that he was close to joining Inter before eventually signing for the Rossoneri. The 19-year-old has been one of the revelations of the 2012-13 campaign for Massimiliano Allegri's side, but he could have been playing for their cross-city rivals, had they not rejected him as a child.
"When I was 10, I had a trial with Inter, but they thought I was too small. And here I am now," De Sciglio told reporters.
The defender then went on to praise new arrival Mario Balotelli, who scored twice on his debut for the club after leaving Manchester City in January.
"Mario Balotelli’s talent is beyond doubt. He’s brought a lot of enthusiasm and he’ll help us climb the table."
De Sciglio also had his say on the upcoming Serie A match against Cagliari, claiming that his team-mates did not care in which venue the match would eventually be played.
"For us it makes no difference to play in Cagliari or Turin, we need the three points to stay close to third place.
"We just have to focus on ourselves because the teams ahead of us will take points off each other seeing as they have to play each other. We have to take every chance we get."
Milan currently sit joint fourth in the Serie A table with 40 points from 23 games.
