Flamini talks up Balotelli arrival ahead of Cagliari clash
The midfielder is looking forward to his club's future with Balo on board, and feels defeating Sunday's opponents is an important step in the right direction
Mathieu Flamini has talked up the arrival of Mario Balotelli at AC Milan ahead of Sunday’s Cagliari clash.
The Italian striker joined the Serie A side in January and made an outstanding debut against Udinese last weekend, scoring twice to win the match 2-1 for the Rossoneri in injury time.
Flamini believes the signing of Balotelli could help spur Massimiliano Allegri’s side to win trophies, though called for caution ahead of this weekend’s game.
"The match with Cagliari could prove crucial," he told Milan Channel. "We will face a very good team, but we want to play well and take home three points.
"We have so many quality players though. Balotelli's arrival is fantastic - he has so much potential.
"With him up front we hope to win a lot of trophies."
Flamini was dropped from midfield in the club's dramatic San Siro win over Udinese, but could return to the starting line-up against Cagliari on Sunday.
