thumbnail Hello,

The Czech coach was dismissed on Saturday after a poor run of form, and the 41-year-old feels he deserved more time to turn it around

Former Roma president Rosella Sensi has claimed the Zdenek Zeman should not have been sacked the club.

The veteran Czech was relieved of his duties after Friday's 4-2 loss to Cagliari saw them slip to eighth place in the table, having failed to win in Serie A since the turn of the year.

"I do not think the statistics justify Zeman's sacking," she told Rai Sport.

"I do not know the intern goings on, but history says Zeman should always be supported and protected until the end. I certainly would not have fired him.

"My father always said a coach should be supported until the end."

Zeman succeeded Luis Enrique in the Stadio Olimpico hot-seat, and Roselli went on to say that she would have never appointed the Spaniard over Vincenzo Montella, who had been in charge for a period the previous season.

"I would have stuck with Montella last season rather than hiring Luis Enrique. The project made of young players should have continued with him," she added."
