Acerbi 'relaxed' after AC Milan departure
The defender struggled to make an impact in his short spell at San Siro, and says he is very happy to have left the Rossoneri in the January transfer window
Francesco Acerbi has delivered a parting shot to AC Milan by saying that leaving the club has taken a weight off his shoulders. The defender only joined the Rossoneri in the summer on a co-ownership deal with Genoa, but failed to make an impression at San Siro, and was sold back to Genoa in January, who then loaned him out to Chievo.
The 24-year-old only made nine appearances for the club in the first half of the season, and says he is far happier now that he has moved.
“I am very happy at Chievo and leaving Milan was a weight off my shoulders,” he told reporters.
“The Rossoneri are a great club, but I had many difficulties. I am more relaxed now, as at Milan I could not give what I wanted to.”
Acerbi made his debut for Chievo in their 2-1 defeat to Juventus on Sunday, coming on at half-time to help spark his side's second-half revival.Related Stories
