Galliani: AC Milan need time to return to the top
The Rossoneri CEO believes that it is only a matter of time before they are a force to be reckoned with once more following a difficult 2012-13 campaign so far
Adriano Galliani has stressed that AC Milan need time to return to the top of Italian and European football, but is confident that the San Siro side will eventually be among the dominant teams again. The Rossoneri currently sit only seventh in the Serie A table after losing several accomplished stars in the summer transfer window, but Galliani has little doubt that they will re-emerge in the not too distant future.
"Milan need a bit of time to return to the top of Italian and European [football] again, but I am sure that we will eventually succeed," Galliani was quoted as saying on the club's official website.
"We have decided to change skin and bring through youngsters. We have explained our situation to the fans and I think they understand us.
"We have balanced our books and comply with the Financial Fair Play rules. We played with a very young attack the other day, and this will continue to be our policy."
Milan are on the verge of signing young midfielder Riccardo Saponara from Empoli, while they also continue to monitor the situation of Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli.
